Overview

People don't just star it.
They deploy it.

Second Brain is a self-hosted memory layer that works across Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP client. Store something once, recall it everywhere. It runs entirely in the user's own Cloudflare account — free tier, no telemetry, no vendor in the middle.

The Story
01
Every AI session starts from zero
Context lives in silos. What you tell Claude, ChatGPT never knows. Developers re-explain their projects to every tool, every session. Second Brain makes memory portable and user-owned.
02
Built in public, deployed in private
Three Product Hunt launches, every one of them top four, with no budget and no audience: the original on May 31, 2026 (#3 Product of the Day), v2 on July 12 (#4), and the desktop app on July 25 (#3). In the last 14 days alone: 450+ unique cloners and a ~20% visitor-to-clone rate. Because it's self-hosted by design, there is no usage telemetry — adoption shows up as deployments, not dashboards.
03
Contributors arrive unsolicited
Security, data-integrity, and sync features have all been shipped by external contributors — people who found the project, deployed it, and improved it without being asked. Community pull requests have been merged across the core repo and its Obsidian plugin. For an open source project, that is the signal.

0 INDEX

An index, not a running total. It was set to 10,000 on August 10, 2026, and each signal is scored against its own level that day — so the weights are real shares and the biggest raw number can't quietly become the whole score. App downloads lead at 5×, forks 3×, package installs 2×, stars 1×. Every input is cumulative, so the index only ever grows.
